  Welcome to Wave-Zero, an experimental ‘blogboard’ established to create a message board format blog- a board primarily focused on a small userbase, with the ability to grow over time.  This is unofficially a new incarnation of the community of Puppet Games. About 6 users are a constant on the Puppet Games board, and more than half of us were in favor of this new medium of expression, so here it is!

If you weren’t a regular to Puppet Games beforehand, don’t let that deter you. We’re a friendly bunch, and if you post comments that show your intelligence, we’re likely to offer you up a contributor spot in the near future. Topics of discussion range to just about anything, like a typical message board. We’ll have a non-generic skin soon, followed a bit later by a custom designed skin (the one coming soon is a temporary nod to an old site I never got off the ground…but that’s coming back at some point).

SHORT RULES:

We welcome free speech, but there are some things we won’t tolerate. Flaming, trolling, spamming, and the like will be dealt with harshly. Religion and Politics are welcome as discussions, but only intelligent ones, and the second comment wars are started (unless the provocation is obvious and no one else is joining in), it’s over. Also, trying to force religious views on others will be met with a ban. I personally don’t tolerate that. Similar with politics, but more leniant. Debate is the heart of politics, so that can’t really be avoided, but when it turns into a war, it’ll be shot down in flames.

  You’re either gonna understand this, and have enough common sense to abide and know we’re trying to strike a balance, or you’re gonna push the limit, which we still welcome and hope for if it involves intelligent words, or you’re gonna spam/troll like crazy and you’ll never come back if we have anything to do with it.  Please make a choice here:  Either be one of the first two, that’s what makes our community awesome, or be the latter and just leave.  Don’t bother posting if you’re that 2nd group, we all know it’s a waste of your damn time.

 If you’ve read the about page, you need not continue and can start posting already.  If you haven’t, visit the /about/ page to get an indepth tutorial on keytags, the main feature of WZ that keeps it going.

With that said, I think I can declare this place officially open.  If anyone has any questions, feel free to respond and if I feel it’s important enough I’ll edit this page.  Have fun posting!

BASIC FORMAT:

OK, so now I’m sure you’re rearing to join in. For someone who doesn’t start out as a contributor, that means commenting on existing pages. If you intend to go any further up the hierarchy, to the point of making your own pages, that means posting under a registered username as well. So go ahead and register today! Each post you make that’s a positive for us all, is another point to tally towards your promotion. We don’t look at it as numerically, this isn’t a post-count focus as much as a contribution one.

Pages start threads. Threads can be replied to by comment, or, if you feel it’s warrented (and have the authority), by a response page. Generate a keyphrase as a tag, and that tag will chain together threads. Don’t make the keyphrases too generic, as many threads might be started over a topic (grouping threads into proper topics is fine, but there should be a unique tag to set each thread apart). Also, it should be clear which tag is the keyphrase. If it isn’t obvious by the tags themselves, have the common sense to add a line to the end of your page saying what the keytag is. 

Keytags are what’s going to keep this place going. Threads generated by keytags shouldn’t have to last that long, if they do than new keytags should be made eventually. This is intended to keep newcomers in the new loop.  For example, the keytag to this post is intro-wtwz.  I’m sure you noticed that before the post, because I am the topic starter, I posted the keyphrase to reach this page again.  If  you’re starting a topic, I recommend you put the keytag phrase at the end of your post.  If you’re replying, please put the keytag line at the beginning of the post so anyone reading it knows that it’s a reply, and can find what you’re replying to.
